Rory already had one meltdown and the odds at BetFair were 1.14 (-714) so the "only -890" doesn't seem to make much sense.

It never makes sense to lay something like -890 unless you're live betting and someone puts it up on a basketball team winning by 15 points with 30 seconds left (getting a team with an 8 run lead with one out in the 9th inning, etc).

You have to win 90% of you wagers just to break even and weird things happen all the time in sporting events.

Admittedly, the -890 was never in doubt as Rory got off to a strong start and coasted home.
