More Choking More Now Than Ever In Sports
Was listening to ESPN this Am and guy made great point (Colin Coward)

So much pressure on these guys now
    tons of money involved
    media all over place
athletes pumped up so young to perform at a high level

all some of reasons that are causing much more choking in big time sports as opposed toy years ago

I think it's more of the fact most of these athletes are mentally weak...some play just not to lose, and that is a recipe for disaster...It's like when your on the golf course and there is water to the right or trees to the right...you tell yourself not to hit it right and what happens...you either hit it right in there or you try to force a swing and hook the shit out of it...that's why you just need to be confident and do your thing....

Strategies like prevent defense, prevent you from the win. you lose all aggresiveness and the other team can smell fear and have you on your heels...Sports is all about confidence and swagger and momentum. When you start playing to not lose rather than to win you lose everything you need.

When McElroy was up big in the last major he tried to play not to lose lead and that is exactly what happened. When you start thinking weak you act weak. That goes for anything you do in life!

I have no clue about Indy Car driver....Vancouver just ran into a buzzsaw...a bigger and tougher team.
James- we all know he is a mental midget. Needed to leave home town to play with a closer who he thought would help him get the ring.
            McIlroy- broke down mentally

            Mets- they just suck
Yankees in 04' - Red Sox were better and got hott at right time. Rivera blowing save turned the thinking of everyone involved.

Many examples of Mental weakness...There are a lot of factors that weaigh in on this. Colin did mention a few good points

Athletes and championship level teams are better now than years ago. It's not so much a choking thing as it is when get to the top level, competition is tight. People and the press are gaga over teams like the Heat and Canucks but forget dallas and Boston have damn good teams.

No this is stupid there isn't more now, its just that everyone feels the need to chime in and offer there opinion. And rehash the issues over and over and over
