I mean **** this guy is absolute garbage has he ever thrown out a base stealer? I would fukin run on him every fukin time hes just gonna throw it in the outfield anyway, plus this idiot drops 50% of the pitches, huge handicap for the Yanks

They're saving their money for a pitcher when Colon and Garcia finally **** the bed and they realize they can't win the World Series with their current starting pitching. **** the Yankees!

Cervelli wasn't the first option for the Yanks. Not sure if you follow baseball, but Martin is injured. That's the only reason Cervelli is behind the plate.

I understand hes backing up Martin but **** I mean this guy is just complete trash, you dont have to follow baseball the announcers remind you what a shitbag backup he is everytime he ***** up which is roughly 5 times a game. Not sure how hes even in the majors much less behind home plate for the Yanks, he hasnt completed a throw to 2nd base in a game I've watched him, he loses any ball that hits the dirt, where did the Yanks get this guy from Single A

They need to bring up Montero and give him a chance. His defense can't be any worse than Cervelli, and he's much better offensively. Plus increases his value for trade bait when then go for pitching they really need.

He's a back up catcher. Check out some starting catchers on other teams. Not to mention he's a 500 hitter with bases loaded

He looks like Tony Soprano's kid. I think tt could steal 2nd off him and Varitek.

Yankees have three catchers in minor leagues that every team in baseball would love to have.

                They just arent ready yet.

Montero-Gary Sanchez and one other guy

cervelli is a solid backup for Martin who is a one or two year stopgap until sanchez is ready. Montero probably moves to DH at some point or gets traded

Cervelli is such garbage....I have no idea why Posada is not backing up Martin at catcher. That way if Martin is out of the lineup they can get a new bat in the lineup. Cervelli is awful behind the plate and has zero pop. Varitek is better than that bum.

Agreed, I dont have any idea why Posada is not the backup over this fukin bum, I mean I know hes old as the fukin hills and talks about wanting to quit and shit but fuk at least he can throw to 2nd and not into the outfield half the time

This fuckin bum Cevilli will be hauling garbage in NYC in 5 years, right now the Yanks are scoring 50 a game so they dont give a **** but when Cevilli pulls that shit in some close games he'll be backin up a garbage truck

Cervelli sucks. Even standing up, he couldn't throw cleanly to 2nd.

He isnt that bad guys he is the backup catcher come on look around the rest of the league its not like there are all these great catchers as 1 poster mentioned Yankees have a few options in the minors but they just arent ready yet and if they brought 1 of those guys up and they flopped it would hurt their trade value when they are ready to go out and get a arm at the trade deadline
