Maybe if the lockouts extend deep into the NFL/NBA seasons, MLS/European soccer will get some decent TV time on non-cable channels here and inspire future US talent. I'm sure there are some athletes that couldn't make it (or are 3th/4th string) in the NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL, but would've been a great fit for soccer.

For some reason the US Soccer Federation just re-signed him after the World Cup, so we're stuck with him..like it or not. Tactically I think he's an ass clown, and during the World Cup it showed how much he was in over his head. With the exception of a few players the US is getting long in the tooth, and Bradley is weak at motivating head cases like Donovan, Howard, and Altidore.

I mean I no USA isnt the greatest team but why does USA have to be good at every single thing? Soccer/Football isnt USA traditional sport so of course we arnt going to be the best in the world. To much emphasis is put on USA being the best in soccer and they never will be the best in soccer because other countries develop talent way faster and put way more money into their programs then America.

Spain,Netherlands,Brazil,Japan,South Korea, and even the African countries are investing more

The state of US soccer reminds me alot of the state of US tennis. Look at how many players play soccer and tennis at the college level and are recruited versus University players from other nations.

Do you think some young Eastern European player in tennis or some Brazilian player in soccer is going to be recruited at the University level????? It is increasingly like hearing people praise a college basketball team for it senior leadership, this is usually because they don't have the talent to turn pro.

Andrew Luck next year is a major exception on the collegiate level. Incredible Scholar/ Athlete who will be an incredible pro athlete.
