I'm starting to question if I could just be ignoring something obvious in my handicapping... Continuing to flush these max bets ($50) down the toilet every year is starting to sting...

While I wouldn't agree with the particulars of your assessment I must admit absent other information I do stereotype women as typically being tight when I initially sit down with them at a table... I also have sterotypes based on race and age as well until proven otherwise so while it might be borderline sexist my views aren't limited to just women...

As an example I've been watching the live stream of the tournament tonight and this women is probably the most aggressive at the table ... In this case she wouldn't fit my stereotype of women but definitively is living up my stereotype of Asian gamblers....

So far it been working for her as she is 2nd with 4 left... Hopefully it continues because I'm tired of losing of $50 bets every year due to these continuing sub-par performances...

+120... Given the number of women playing and the numbers events it should be a good bet...

Since then I read somewhere that women might have a higher cashing percentage (compared to their participation) but a lower then expected win rate which would lead credibility to my theory that women typically play tighter then men...

This wouldn't be hard to calculate but, given the low limits accepted on the bet, my handicapping didn't go past using google to try to approximate overall participation levels...

Stopped in Rio to check out wsop and it was busier than anticipated. Was told the lower buy in events were up over last year and the big buy ins were down. Saw a decent female player who said she was recreational. Name was Denise Molloy. Kind of a tight player who caught a few bad beats to knock her out. Made some decent money there and Venetian tonight in some cash games.

This is pretty much what I've seen as well although, having just pulled up the numbers, even some of the larger buyin events haven't really been off that much...

Bodog had a prop of 5250 participating in the main event which now looks like it has some value given that ~7k played last year...

Given the actions of the DOJ IMO, prior to the WSOP, this didn't look like such a bad line... Unfortunately they pulled the bet early (which seems to be their typical action, instead of making a new number, when their line on things like this start becoming obviously bad) before my slow fingers got around to betting it...
