than presently at Belmont Park? They just said that there have been 6 million dollars in bets on Big Brown alone, and that's just at belmont park. that means that almost every fan has bet Big Brown at probably -500 over there. or more..

i have friends who have bet Big Brown at -600 with locals here. these people are sick, no offence boys, but if it was that easy, why would books only make it -400 and not -2700?

i'm not saying it's going to lose, and i wish you all good luck..but if Big Brown loses, you will see thousands of people crying in the stands there because i am sure people have bet huge money on this..

good luck to all.. whoever bet big brown, i hope you dont lose. there's no such thing as a lock.

I'm pulling for you guys who bet Big Brown..

I didn't bet anything on Belmont because I really don't know alot about Horses.

I just don't see anyway the odds are in anybody's favor to bet on Brown.

I'm with you tho, I hope he wins for everybody, but its anybody's race.

i dont know anything about horses, but i have always questioned this sport because to me, it seems all staged and planned. it looked here like big brown jockey was not trying to win it.. looked like he lost on purpose.. looked fixed to me.. that's why i never bet horses.

makes sense that he loses so they clean up on all the bettors..

      bookies are laughing now..

franky, to me it seemed like it was fixed. it really did. it seemed that big brown was trying not to win or place. do you know how much money the house has won today on this?

i've always believed horse racing is all fixed. it's all about the almigthy dollar. the more the big favs lose, the more the government and houses clean up..

It seriously looked to me that he was trying his hardest to hold his horse back from placing in 3rd or better, or win.. honestly, that's what i saw.

I HAVE NEVER BET ONE RACE IN MY LIFE AND THIS IS WHY I NEVER WILL..

Horse racing has been one of the most corrupt sports going back decades and decades. People think steroids in baseball or football is a problem, but horses have been using juice for over 50 years. In fact winistrol, the steroid that ben johnson used in the 84 olympics when he set the world record was designed for horses.

Theyll put sponges in horses noses to block their breathing, payoff jockeys... horse racing is a sport that historically has been as corrupt as 3 card montey. I dont know how fixed it is currently, but when money is involved, there are always people on the take.

You See Mooseboy, I Have Never Read That, I Was Just Assuming. I Am Happy You Agree With Me Cause I Can See That Happening With All The Money That Is Bet Out There.. It's Not Like The Horse Will Go Squeal And Tell Anyone..

I Thought People Were Going To Call Me Crazy For Saying It's Easy To Fix A Horse Race. I Didn't Expect Anyone To Agree With Me, Because To Me, It's Obvious. That's Why I Can Never Bet This Crap.

Yeah the jockey blew the race, because his son who will be blind in 10 years, which he wanted to win for, so he could remember it, they blew the triple crown for some extra money, because Big Brown wasn't going to make 100's of millions by breeding, big brown and his owner and trainer needed him to not place at all, so they could make a lot of money!

I dont know if this race was fixed, or how corrupt the sport currently is, but historically it has been as tainted as any other event when money is inovled.

Horse racing is probaly the 17th most popular "sport" in this country now, but 100 years ago horse racing was probably the 2nd or 3rd most popular sport in the US after baseball and boxing.

A few years ago when that seabiscuit movie came out, I was listening to a radio show and they were talking about some of the stuff that happend in horse racing. They stated how people would stick sponges up one of the horses nostrils, put the wrong size horshoes on... just all kinds of little stuff to sabotage, or gain advantage, or outright fix races in the past.

you're right, i looked at the crowd too after the race and they looked like they all wanted to jump off a bridge. Near my house, there is this track and if you go there, all you see is whinos looking into the garbage for winning tickets. one guy sat with me once and told me his life story about who he was and what he once had. it was the saddest thing ever. he lost his family and all from horses. It's sad. I dont know why you guys bet horses for, i wish you'd all stop.. the house advantage is unbelievable compared to baseball. it's like 5x more the house makes over the avg horse bettor over bases.

i have been begging richie to stop betting horses and stick to sports, and i hope he listens. richie is good at sports, he doesn't need this crap..

IMPOSSIBLE to win at horses over the long haul..

We have already found out the NBA has been fixed and some of the major online poker sites. It's safe to say IMO that outside influence is atleast a factor in everything at some point.

I don't know about any particular race but...the one sport that is legal to bet on everywhere where the athletes can't talk?
