Things that impressed you about or didn't impress you about Playstation3?

Just got one and am learning everything it can and can't do.Is it all that it's cracked up to be?What are it's strong points and glaring weaknesses?

It's better hardware than other game consoles but most games look worst on it because developers can't be bothered. You also have a blu-ray player in case you wanted to watch some of the terrible movies being put out in high definition. You have free multiplayer through PSN network compared to having to pay for a gold membership for xbox live. One of the glaring weaknesses is that your private information gets leaked due to incompetent staff and inadequate security measures.

I have both and this simply isn't true, the gameplay online is virtually Identical.

Yeah online gameplay is the same...Graphics are only going to get better, developers still haven't utilize the cell processor technology. Don't get playstation Move. IMO it sucks, although I haven't used it TOO much...The game selection is great, its great to use a media server to stream movies from your comp to your TV...If you want game suggestions let me know.

just played playstation Mortal Kombat on a 3d tv, pretty cool....

Ya right the online is the same, ever tried playing fifa it takes forever to find a game and is usually laggy, cod is sometimes the same aswell, and just saying xboxlive is 5$ a month

Also I have both systems, although ps3 collects dust because I do not like the controller

Another thing about the graphics, if you have the new xbox with hdmi graphics are equal

love the ps3..i would recommend trying out the playstation plus. it gives u a ton of free games to download as well as purchasing new games at a discount. not sure if u can get the free trial since u just got your system, but they gave everyone who had their network down a free months trial. and so far i have been impressed with it

It's a good pickup, one of the best blu-ray players on the market.
