Have you ever been to a game where there was a brawl?
I was at the Mariners vs Orioles game I'd say about 93 when Bill Hasselman charged the mound againt Mussina. All hell broke out. The pitchers in the bullpen where jumping the outfield wall. It was a pretty long fight. Here is a funny sidenote to this day. I was 17 at the time and would go for autographs as well. I was by the vistors dugout on the right side. Perfectly next to it. I got a few players to sign right before batting practice. I'm also keeping an eye/ear out for cracked bats. I lived near a AAA stadium and would clean shop w/ cracked bats and autographs. Anyway Bill Hasselman cracked his bat. I asked him for it and he said it isn't broken. He goes in the dugout and puts tape around the barrel. He then goes for another round of bp. He comes back and I ask him again. He ignores me. He does another round of bp. When he walks back to the dugout I ask him again. He then says, "Jesus Chirst kid, here is the bat". I was happy to get the bat but he just seemed in a pissy mood. Anyway his first at bat of the game, he goes deep against Mussina. Next at bat he gets pluncked. He then charges the mound.
One other fight I witnessed was at a AAA game. It actually wasn't during the game but 45 minutes before. This is when the players have come out of the dugout before the game. It was the Toledo Mudhens. I'd say in 90 or 91. Johnny Wockenfus was the manager and he got in a fist fight w/ one of his players in the dugout. I forgot who the player was but either the player or Wockenfus was choking the other person. I kid you not. I was never forget it.
