Canucks/Bruins Game 5 Discussion

Series now tied up 2-2. Bruins looked dominant the past two games. Sedins completely shut down. Boston laying out all the hits, hustling to the puck and generally just doing everything better in all facets of the game compared to the Canucks. First off....Canucks miss Hamhuis A LOT. Ballard is an absolute joke...rather have Tanev in there.

Burrows trying to scrap it out with Thomas is idiotic. Timmy lives off that type of shit. All it does is just fuel the fire. Sedins are getting out muscled and it's one reason why I didn't like the match up because of Bostons physical defenseman. If we were vs Tampa Bay it'd be much easier to score since they play that same finesse game the Canucks play.

I backed the Bruins in Game 3 and 4....and Game 5 I'm leaning Vancouver to win. Gut feeling....and my gut has been right most of the time. If Canucks lose Game 5....especially by a lot with Luongo starting.....put Schneider in net for Game 6. Canucks lose Game 5.....this series is over.

Canucks ML will probably be too much chalk.....so the under will probably be a play.

I'm liking Boston here in game 5. Boston managed to keep the games close in Vancouver, and when they got back home they took care of business..serious business. I could see it being a 3-1 or 3-2 game for the Bruins. But I agree, if the Nucks lose in game 5, Schneider starts game 6 in Beantown

bruins fan here i think this is going 7 games boys...game 5 and 7 will all be shityourpants low scoring affairs...game 6 will be another pauly d boston blowout...make no mistake about the goaltending though luongo will be starting every game regardless.

Hmm. I'm thinking home ice/last change may in fact be worth far more than I have been admitting. That's a pretty big VAN line but it's hard to argue with the results from the first two games. Based on the -175 ballpark I see it may be BOS or nothing game five for me. Cheers

Bruins are feeling it right now, and Vancouver lost 4 in a row 2 times this season......Thomas is a man possessed and is out playing Luongo in a BIG way. They say defense wins, and the best defender is the goalie.....I'm laying the cheddah on the goalie of the year, GO BRUINS.

My gut would have to make me think that Vancouver would play better at home. Especially after getting embarassed in games 3-4. and especially without horton. Yes, peverley stepped up big. but it's tough to think that losing their best scorer will not affect boston. It's tough to get a judge on this series because boston has played great at home, but hasn't won on the road yet (even though they came close). We also don't know how Luongo will respond. The Ryder shot should have been an easy save. Will Luongo come out in game 5 and be the shutdown goalie we saw in game 5 of the western conference finals and in game 1 of the stanley cup? or will he give up 12 goals in 2 games like he did in games 3-4? It's just tough to say. Luongo will be in net for rest of series barring he gives up 5 goals at home next game. if canucks win game 5, i think boston will win game 6 and force 7. if boston wins game 5, i think they finish if off at home in 6. I think it will be a good game 5.

If history means anything, like it did in games 1-3(6 years all home wins), the play should be UNDER. In the finals with west as host there have been 4 overs in all 18 games in the last 6 years- that includes game 1+2 this year.

Sure they do, do you remember a little team called the Green Bay Packers? That was a cash money train right through the playoffs and the NFC championship game was nuts. Patriots/Bears this year was a free cash hand out as well, sure there are other examples. Don't over think it, Bruins at +160 to win the cup is as solid as shit on a frozen tundra or in Canada in January.
