Fishhead I am from the north east. About 40 mintues north of JJ, I am in the nice rural part of new jersey nothing compared to the armpit of nj which is newark. Alot of the yankee fans who are season ticket holders come from familys that have had the tickets for numerous decades.

Fact of the matter is a lot of tickets are bought by corporations (season ticket holders). My answer would be along those lines (yuppies, white-collar workers)

I lived in NJ for years and attended many Yankee functions. I love the Yankee fans as much as I love the Yankees!

That is just as puzzling as people living in Manhattan with rent costing 3-4k.

I attend 15-20 games a year. I am an attorney. The three chicks I go with work in finance and the medical field.
The stadium seems to be split between old NYC money (lawyers, doctors, and finance guys) on the lower level and blue collar/young unestablished white collar in the upper level. In past years I have made friends w/ my fellow season ticket section peeps, they were con-ed workers and a prison gaurd.
