I shouldn't even have to list the schools. Wouldn't any team that finish in the top 8 get a bowl game?

Yeah it is "Notre Dame" rule. Since they are not in a conference, they have that stipulation in the BCS rules that Notre Dame is in if they are in the top 8 in the final poll.

Yes it was Notre Dame, but any team that is in the top 8 will get in a bowl game.
