Once again you guys are proving your age! Obviously very few of you ever saw Larry Bird play. Apparently you haven't seen Bird highlights, either, considering his most famous play of all time was an incredible defensive play.

so was reggie miller's genius. doesn't make him a great defender does it????? barkley famously said he would be the worst defender in the nba it wasn't for larry bird. bird was a smart player which allowed him to make that steal. the reason some rate kobe bryant ahead of bird and magic is his defense, but i would rather two of the latter on my team as they always made teams and teammates better.

All time all white teams in their primes would definitely be an elite team. Athletically and defensively challenged though, especially at the perimeter. There is no lack of tall guys though so they probably should play the most packed in zone in basketball history against the Heat. On offence they'll be fine; nice ball movement( look at the athleticly challenged European teams beating some of the old dream teams; and obviously the alltime all white teams in their primes would be better than any European team in history with the Heat not as talented overall as any of the dream teams), totally incredible outside shooting, and multiple screens/backdoor cuts would yield easy baskets. And the Heat better battle through screens because with Bird/Nash/Novitzki/Mullin/Stockton shooting open threes it could get out of hand. I'll say if the white team gets a chance to play together for a year or so and develop offensive chemistry they should be favorites over the Heat, but the series would be competitive and if the Heat can knock in their outside perimeter shots they have an chance to win.

No one's going to check Wade and Lebron one on one. Zone all the way or double immediately before humiliation would be the name of the game against the two uncheckable Heat players. They can handle Bosh with someone like flopmaster Divac or even Luc Longley/Sabonis.

Put any elite offensive center (Prime Shaq, Hakeem, Jabbar) on Dallas and it might be a sweep. It's purey hypethetical of course, but there is obviously no Heat answer for any of those monsters. Shaq would probably average his customary 36pts/17reb/5 blocks and they could space Novitzk/Terry on the perimetor for innumerable wide open looks. In this situation there is almost no way the Heat can win unless it's a fast break game; Dallas would have an unbelievable efficiency advantage both offensively (inside out basketball) and defensively(with an erasor in the paint) in the half court set.

Kevin Love would come off the bench and Chris Bird Man Anderson for the All-White time.
