Did Richard Childress go to far?
In my opinion Richard went too far and was out of line and character when he confronted Kyle Busch. I am not the biggest fan of Kyle but throwing punches is not right.

Throwing punches in NASCAR is what made it popular when no one was watching it. It's part of the culture.

Kyle Busch has ruined that Truck and Nationwide series for me, so I have no problem with somebody punching him in the face.

That was a $150 thousand dollar punch. I hope he got his money's worth.

i like kyle busch for the same reason i like josh koscheck. they realize this is entertainment. koscheck likes being the bad guy because it gets him more fights. similarly, busch doesn't mind being disliked because he has now become a popular name to non nascar fans like myself and i don't know many nascar racers. as long as, he doesnt do anything morally or crimanally wrong he bring in the endorsement like a boss.
he is a smart business man.

Yeah Childress looks like he lost it and went over the top. But hey, it's NASCAR, people get fired up all the time.

What should have happened is Kyle breaking his nose and sitting him on his ass to remind the silly old fool what line he just stepped over.

Given that he is on probation Jennifer Joe Cobb or anyone for that matter can tee off on Kyle Busch as he has no recourse. We will all wait impatiently for the upcoming weekend and see what it brings! Kyle may just turn into a punching bag.

Childress stated after Busch wrecked Harvick's car on pit road that if he tore up any more of his (Childress') equipment he would whup him. Kyle bumped whatshisname on the cool down lap of the truck race. So all it proves to me is that Childress is a man of his word. Kyle Busch needs his ass kicked repeatedly.

I'm going to say he did go to far. As an owner you have to stay out of it and let the drivers figure it out themselves. I used to hate Rowdy but he has grown on me.

I would like to keep the Cup guys in cup, but thats never going to happen. So I've given up on that.

Ahhh...but in this case both Childress and Busch were both owners. Busch was racing his own truck. And from what tidbits are floating around the interwebs, it wasn't so much as antics on track that provoked the beatdown but Kyle Busch's mouth after the race. Anyhoo...I bet Childress is thinking 50k a punch is worth it.

Hadn't heard that, but it makes sense as it happened 30 mins after the race.

Some of these NASCAR brats need a good ole beating from an old man every now and then to learn how to drive.
