Right now sitting in a Nike shoe box in my closet. Where do you invest it? We're not talking sports gambling. Market is shit. Is it in a better place in the shoe box than the stock market? I think so at this point. Lets here the suggestions.
1k, what do you invest in?

#3A money market account (invested in government not corporate obligations) is easily better then keeping it in a shoe box... If that goes to shit the money in the shoe box is worthless anyhow...Comment -

#9I'd say if you want to save for the future open a Roth IRA if you qualify. From there you could put it in a money market if your afraid of the market or buy a quality stock of your choice. If not a Roth put in bank money market or CD to at least get it out of the house.Comment -

#17in all seriousness....it's a good investment. Dad's friend is the majority share owner and predicts it will hit $40/share by 2015. The big plan is to give power to California ...which is where they will make most of their money. They will also have dams all over British Columbia pumping energy to 100's of thousands of households. Clean, efficient energy is the future.Originally posted by Cuse0323Don't bury me here, I'm going big on this shit.
The stock was at $10/share at one point due to a lot of media hype but it has gone down to what it should be at since contracts are still being negotiated.Comment -

#19loan it out to your buddies with a little interest added. Safest place to keep you money is in the street working for you. If you only have 1k, dont lone more the 100 to any one person. Once you get to $1500, start loaning 150. Charge %20 for the first week and %10 each week after that. Also its always best to get a little collateral. Rule of thumb for collateral is its worth %10 of what it costs new. So if a guy needs $100 you take his laptop or tv till he pays. With the interest compounding you will get stiffed 3/10 times.Comment -

#30Give the money to jj for the use of advertising on his head. Then sell ads to companies under the business plan that since many men see the back and top of jj's dome they will see increased business traffic. I think you could do quite well.Comment -

#33Its a very tough thing to invest in just one stock short term. So if you are going long term, I would put my money in well known brands like Apple, Google, Microsoft. If not, Just pick a good mutual fund, you can find numerous rankings on the internet.Comment -
