Yeah there are a lot of bandwagon fans but that's pretty much the case with the whole NBA. People will come to see a cubs game or almost any nfl team no matter how bad they are, but you never hear of bad teams selling out in the NBA. Every NBA team has bandwagon fans. Most ppl who watch the NBA do it to watch the players, not the teams. There aren't Miami Heat fans, there are D-Wade and Lebron James fans.

i agree with what you said. people love bandwagons. but in my area most bandwagon football fans are Dallas Cowboys fans. and yankee fans. It's funny... i moved to virginia a year ago. and i wondered, "where do all these dallas cowboys fans come from? did a big business in Dallas relocate to virginia? then in 2010 there were new orleans saints fans at the bar all football season long. i asked the bartender how many saints fans were in there a year ago. She goes, "none. these people became fans after they won the super bowl. it happens every year. once a team wins the super bowl next year half the city has a new favorite team. it's a joke."

The Heat added two superstars to their roster in their offseason... it's hardly called 'bandwagon jumping' if you switched. Maybe if you waited until they started winning games but not if you simply like Bosh or James.

The bandwagon fans always have the greatest sense of entitlement, and usually the least knowledge about the sport in general. But cheering for a winning team makes them feel good about themselves.

I actually know several people that are all over the Heat now, just like they were all over the Lakers in the last couple of years. Says a lot about a person when they can't even take a stand on supporting a sports team that doesn't give them immediate gratification.
