There are far more incentives for corruption in politics, and the people drawn to the field reflect this.

Cops are mostly trying to do the right thing, although of course there are some corrupt ones or cops abusing the system.

Politicians by far. Police are mostly good but there are a few bad ones who abuse power or get warped by the system.
