Seeing this thread put me at ease with my DETROIT pick! The Wings absolutely dominated every aspect of this series. Fleury stole the last game on his own...everything else equal the Wings win by 4 or 5 goals. Fleury cannot win an entire series on his own. I guarantee you that Detroit takes this series. I called these two meeting in the finals in January. Detroit is clearly the better team and will win.

detroit plays a trap? if they did they wouldn't have 58 shots. look at the devils when they last won the cup, they played the trap and had about 20 shots per game. not really the same. detroit just doesn't give up many odd man rushes and they backcheck like crazy. when your top two scorers are also up for the Frank J. Selke award for the top defensive forwards, that is saying something.... and that something is that they don't want to get scored on, but still have the skills to bury the puck

There are a lot of different forms of the trap, and Detroit plays many different neutral zone systems. The left wing lock seems to be more prevalent than a straight New Jersey style trap. Either way they have controlled the play for most of the series. But Fleury has been the Penguins biggest advantage, he is much better than Osgood, and has the ability to raise his game to a very high level.
