#2He'll come back just in time for one final push at a new contract from someone. It won't be in Boston.
He is an absolute trainwreck.Comment -

#3shocking.
this guy once threw 250 pitches in one game the day after throwing 148 in japan. so it was just a matter of time.Comment -

#4Wow.
I remember when he was suppose to be the 2nd coming with some crazy pitch nobody had ever heard of that was unhittable.
Money well spent.Comment -

It's basically a fastball that spins like crazy and depending on the arm angle, it can move very late at home plate. Hideo Nomo said he could throw one.Comment -

#7I liked Nomo at his best, I saw him throw a no-hitter at Coors field when the over/unders there used to be 14.5Comment -

#8i remember when hideki irabu was called japan's roger clemens.
at least dice k has been way more successful than him.
but the best japanese pitcher of all time was hideo nomo. pitched no-hitters in both nl & al. interestingly, there's only been 1 no hitters thrown at coors field and camden yard in their histories.... both by hideo nomo.

#9Wow, that's an interesting fact. I figured Coors didn't seen many no-hitters, but Camden Yards surprises me.Comment -

#15Hopefully Kuroda will be next, I never understood the "hype" of japanese players. They all suck and cost teams millions more than just bringing up a minor league guy. Outside of Ichiro they should all be sent down to the minor leagues. I mean FuK a Doma was probably the worse deal in history!Comment -

#17saito was the best closer during 2006-8 with the dodgers.
fukudome has been decent, batting .300 this season.
but most japanese players have been busts.Comment -

#18He's been an overpaid, overrated, disappointment anyway. The Sox broke the bank just to keep him from the Yankees. So much money out the window.Comment -

#19Prefer Wakefield in the rotation anyway. Would like to see Wake set the all time Red Sox record for wins. Doubtful he gets there this season, but if he plays one more season it should be a lock.Comment
