His value hasn't been this high in a while. Except for power (HR's), he's on fire. Mets should look for a deal

I think Reyes will be gone by the trade deadline. He's been having a good year and staying healthy. The Mets need to start thinking about the future, and unfortunately, it's not Reyes/Beltran as they had once hoped.
I think there are some serious takers for Reyes...Detroit would be a good destination for him.

but, realistically is value still wont be too high -- look at trades the last few years, trading guys for partial seasons dosen't bring a big return -- assuming that the FA compensation is still around next year, getting the picks for him as type A may be worth more.

I would like to see him in a Redsox uniform............. Scuturo is garbage and Lowrie has just about done all he can do. Hope Theo explores a trade possiblity with the mets for Reyes!

Will be interesting to see after Wilpon blasted Reyes, Beltran and Wright as being overpaid and not worth it. Should trade Reyes before he gets hurt.

the irony of those quotes by wilpon is that he was 100% correct on what he said -- he still probably shouldn't have said it, but he was spot on.

Pitching prospect & a player like Branding Belt might do the trick. SF as a partner is mentioned a lot in these neck of the woods.

losing posey for the year might make the giants back off on that kind of trade imo...that was a huge blow to them

gryfyn1. Wilpon was correct in what he said, but as a businessman, he shouldn't bad mouth a player he will be trying to get as much back for as possible.

Rent a players never give back much in return. Either way, the Mets are screwed. Either pay him big bucks, let him walk or trade him for garbage. Glad I'm a Yankees fan.

Obviously Mets will look for a return better than what they would get offering arbitration, and then seeing him leave for another team.

Giants basically have Belt or Wheeler, and I don't expect the Giants to trade either for Reyes.

I would be a little surprised if Boston went after him, though they certainly have the prospects to do it. I wonder if they think Jose Iglesias' glove is worth him being out there everyday.
