IF a book knows a real line on a game is -110, but they know that if they make it -110, they will write 98% on that team, but they knew that if they made it -200, they would now get dead even action? do you think they'd leave the line at -110, OR -200?
They would NEVER make the line -110 because they dont want to be flooded with one sided action.. too risky for the book..
and this is EXACTLY what's happening in the lakers series. That line should be pick em, but they can't do this, so they made the Lakers -185, because everyone and their nephews and nieces will be betting lakers because everyone loooooooooves to bet KOBE. what gambler doesn't like the Lakers and KOBE.. They made it -185 and not -200 because they want most of their action on lakers laying -185 instead of the real -110.. they want people laying -185.books are laughing at the lakers bettors now..
So i'm not saying celts will win, but if you want value, you're better off betting celts, and if the lakers do win, books will still be laughing because you are laying -185 when you should be laying -110..
So bottom line is, books make their lines based on NOT what the true line is, but what they think the bettors will be betting..
and in this case, it's the lakers -185..
in fact, i would even go as far as saying that BOS should be favored in this series. You have not seen the real celts yet. they've been cruising all along and were the best in nba since day 1. Don't be surprised if bos sweeps LA either. they are that good.
