Well, not exactly, but traffic has definitely been cut dramatically. Due to you-know-what.

Planes are still full, due to the airlines cutting a lot of flights to save money. But the check in lines and security lines are almost walk-thrus now.

No, I talked yesterday to my sister and bro in law who flew out of Newark Friday afternoon, where normally a lot of vacationers and Vegas trippers would be crowding in.

She said it was the fastest they've gotten thru the lines at Newark in years.

Lines at LAX were also reduced from the madness of the last few years. And a friend who just few out of Miami tells me the same.

Yeah, it's due to the dramatically rising air fares, as the lines struggle to stay afloat by cutting the number of flights. Summer is usually very busy for airlines, but an awful lot of people are staying closer to home this year.

Expect to find JJ sufing the waves at Atlantic City this summer(which by the way is, I think, the only free beach in the Mafia State).

So I guess the one day that your sister flys out of Newark means its a ghost town for the rest of the year?!?!...Actually airports have been picking up since it has become cheaper to fly long distances than to drive.

I saw the same thing as LAX.

Sure, cheaper to fly long distances than to drive. But neither is "cheap" now. (And, I mean, who drives coast-to-coast. Other than me, now and again, for the zen experience.)

The US tourist destinations - hotels, events, national parks - are doing a good business still, but mainly with foreign visitors, who are taking advantage of the mortally-wounded-in-Iraq-crossfire dollar.
