    What's the deal on all the off track betting parlors in NYC shutting down?
    It sounds like they pay the state a huge amount of juice after operating expenses and they can't make a profit?Is that the case?Alot of the juice they pay goes into supplementing race purses and the state won't renegotiate the contract where they pay less juice to stay in business.

    The racing industry is getting the beejesus beat out of it by everything from Indian casinos to online gambling to cheap flights to Vegas and it probably doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure why the OTB system can't give the state the amount of money these days they demand.

    Then I suppose the people working at OTB are all organized in a union where tellers make 75K a year with full bennies.

    You have governors resigning in disgrace and having affairs and Hillary being respected as legitimate and you wonder why they can't realize that the OTB's can't pay the vig.
