Don't the same guys who drive every race drive in the all star game too?

Why do these guys in the spring cup race in the minor league Nationwide circuit too? That's like Peyton Manning suiting up for Tennessee then going to play with the Colts the next day.

It is not the whole field racing and you can only be eligible to take part in the All-Star race if you have either:

    * Won a race this season or last season
    * Won an All-Star Race in recent years (think in last 10 years)
    * Won the Championship within the last 10 years

Also I think the winner (maybe top 2) of the Sprint Showdown is also entered into the All-Star race.

my season-long pool doesn't count this race, so i don't care about it unless there's some side bets going on.

i agree it's rather stupid to wreck a $150k car on the slim chance of winning $1 million and it seemed like the drivers/teams agreed, not sure why everyone thought there would be one crash after another yesterday.
