first of all Jerry West is not part of the Lakers ownership. He's not even an employee.
Secondly the fans aren't players so therefore do not need to have sportsmanship. Lakers players showed it when they hugged the Spurs players after the game.

He was basically quit because he felt slighted that Jerry Buss (he's the owner) wouldnt take care of him financially like he did Magic Johnson who was given part ownership of the Lakers. This is why he took a job with the Grizzlies even though he claimed he was burnt out when it was really over money.

U make it sound like Gasol was the greatest player of all time. He couldn't even lead the Grizzlies to the playoff the last few years and when he I'd they got swept out of the first round.
