Fox News Chief Murdoch, Bush Fan, Predicts Obama Landslide
Murdoch is the biggest media mogul on earth, Bush and neocon supporter.
Barack Obama’s Unlikely Supporter: Rupert 'Fox News' MurdochPosted May 29, 2008 12:34pm EDT by Sarah Lacy in Investing, Internet, Media, Newsmakers, Venture Capital, M and A, IPOs

Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg had a long day of grilling executives at their All Things Digital Conference. But they saved Rupert Murdoch -- their Wall Street Journal overlord -- for last. The highlight? Murdoch’s not-quite-but-almost endorsement of Barack Obama for president.

The founder -- and defender -- of Fox News said he expected Obama to win in a landslide, citing widespread unhappiness with the current administration and his disenchantment with Republican contender John McCain. Murdoch added that after a long career in the Senate, McCain had been forced to compromise too much and doesn’t stand for much. Murdoch even nonchalantly owned up to influencing the New York Post to back Obama in the New York primary.

During the Q&A, I pressed Murdoch -- a new U.S. citizen -- on whether he would actually vote for Obama in November. He said he was leaning toward it, but would know in the next six months. When I asked if I could call him, he said yes, then joked I could probably just figure it out from reading the Post.

I also asked Murdoch about reports that he said he would buy the New York Times if he had the opportunity, just to shut it down. He said he was kidding, but likely Times staffers in the audience shuddered.

I'm sure there's not a chance in hell that Murdoch would say this with alterior motives, i.e., to get people tuning into the BIG STORY on Fox tonight or to try and scare white conservatives to the polls this November?

Rupert Murdoch is an Anti-Republican, I guess.

If this looks it really is going to come to pass, a certain lobby is going to have to retrench, abandom their new fair-haired boy, and get agents-of-influence deep into the Obama camp.

(As I don't want to give anyone here apoplectic fits, I'll not mention the lobby by name. Call 'em - uh - the Hotel Lobby.)

But I don't think by any means that this is a done deal.

The Hotel Lobby and their agents-in-place, high up in the Bush Admin, pulled off something unique in world history. (The masses will not know of it for a hundred years, if ever.)

Wherein a so-called "client state" of a world power actually captured the chief executive of that state, and used him like a cheap whore.

And turned the great military power of that state upon it's own perceived enemies, not on the enemies of the world power.

Count on Hollywood NOT making a motion picture of this!

These wonderful folk, the Hotel Lobby and their network, have around 7 more months to use the bitch. In actuality, 3 more months, thru August.

To again get the American peasants in a fighting mood, and willing to go bankrupt and/or die for the purposes of the hotel folk.

I wouldn't be counting yet on Obama making history. It's probably why Hillary is hanging on. She knows somethin' the rest of us don't.

Oh yes, ritehook, I'm all behind the conspiracy theories, even started a few of them myself. Now tell us what Hillary knows and the rest of the masses don't know, or won't know for a hundred years. You already told us that other bit, riveting I must say.

I'm gonna do that within the next week, before I take a summer vacation from this and the other forum I sometimes post on - not a gambling one, a business one.

Right now, I'm gonna take the little time I have before getting back to the grind to post a fascinating subject - In the Den of the Male Animal

I hope Rupert is right but I don't think it will be a landslide. I like Obama in 6 games. I don't think this country could survive another 4 years of Bush policies.

Lions and tigers and bears? Oh my!

The only conspiracy theory I don't believe, ritehook, is the conspiracy theory which states that all conspiracy theories are really just a conspiracy theory. That one I can't buy.

You will be back for football, I hope

                    Its a trick!

Kinda like how the polls predicted Gore would win in 2000 thus discouraging many democrats to not bother voting. He's pulling the same thing.
