I guess Minny and Utah didn't have a shot....

Wolves general manager David Kahn said he knew Minnesota was "dead" when it got down to the final three of himself, Utah executive Kevin O'Connor and Nick Gilbert.

"This league has a habit, and I am just going to say habit, of producing some pretty incredible story lines," Kahn said. "Last year it was Abe Pollin's widow and this year it was a 14-year-old boy and the only thing we have in common is we have both been bar mitzvahed. We were done. I told Kevin: 'We're toast.' This is not happening for us and I was right."

Has Kahn been asleep for the last 20 years? Of course it's fixed

Of course he'd love to have the number one pick...it's gonna be a point guard!

I'd like to think that lottery was on the up and up but it does appear somewhat shaky.

You certainly have to wonder about stuff like that not to mention what happened a few years ago with the referee in the NBA influencing the final score of certain games.

It sort of reminds me of the time Emcee Hammer owned a derby horse and he drew the 20 pill for post position and him and his posse said it was racism behind it.To boot, the 20 post position is better than being 1,2 or 3 at Churchill Downs.2nd,it's pretty tough to rig a little pool pill bottle.3rd,tradition and dignity at the Kentucky Derby is paramount to the crowd in charge of it all.As rigged as the NBA is in other areas,I think it's just bad luck that the Wolves lose the lottery. That team is cursed, jinxed, whammied and stymied all in one. They are their own worst enemies so why do they get bent out of shape when random luck works against them.Same thing with ** Hammer where the guy blew a huge fortune gambling it away and he's worried about someone rigging a pill draw against him.

If Kahn would just take the best player available, the Wolves wouldn't suck so bad. At least the Wolves got the #2 pick and not the 4th which they had the best chance of getting. Taking players like Jonny Flynn and Wes Johnson and signing garbage like Darko to a long term deal is why they have the worst record in the NBA. The Target Center is a ghost town except when they play the Lakers, Heat, or Celtics.

I turned on the lottery just as the teams began being picked. I thought to myself, I bet the Cavs gat the number one spot. And sure enough they got it, just seems like the Cavs we destined to be the first spot. Kinda seems weird that the 8-14 spots were right on the mark.

Uh, no, only the top 3 picks a lotteried.

and its not like it was huge surprise, Cleveland had a 22.7% chance of getting the number 1 pick barely short of Minnesota's 25%

I think they need to hold the lottery "LIVE" that way everyone can see it. Throw all the bingo balls in the machine on live tv and do it that way.

they used to do it that way.
more than a bit suspicious that they would take the time to say "4 members of the media were there" yet they can't have a tv camera?

there were more than 4 media people in on the fake jessica lynch rescue, forged yellowcake documents/wmd lies, etc etc so it's certainly within the realm of possibility that the lottery could be fixed.

i don't think it is fixed, but with chicago/cleveland winning when they needed to with huge fan support and teams like minnesota with very little fan support always getting screwed, who knows?

Even Colangelo who GM's the Toronto Raptors had a sad look on his face when his team got 5th which was the same day he got a contract extension. This guy has been here 4 years and has done nothing to warrant an extension with this team. It seems that accountability does not exist in this franchise.

Dont know if its fixed, but Minnesota should be pissed. If CLE takes Williams first, theyll probably end up with a foreign center in Kanter or Valanciunus. Unless
