I'd like to add another observation: While visiting Montreal I was rather disturbed at the quantity of "chain smokers". These people would literally get up from the table......step out into the freezing temps.......take 6-8 drags..........and step back in to continue on with food/drink.

One perception shouldn't ruin the reputation of an entire nation, even though when the US elected Dubya, it proved that it can be done.
