Where does Mariano Rivera rank on the ALL-TIME pitcher list?

    Where does Mariano Rivera rank on the ALL-TIME pitcher list?
    He's obviously the best relief pitcher of all-time.

    But where would he land if you include ALL pitchers?

    His career numbers, regular season and postseason, are mindboggling!!!

    And this year hes on pace for his best ERA and WHIP totals of his career!

        I'll bite. That's actually a good debate - but it's difficult to do so because he's been a setup or closer his entire career in the bigs.

        It's hard to characterize the closer's job vs a starter. I'd put him in the top 25 pitchers ever - but as far as importance, he's not that high up the list vs say a pedro martinez.

        As for dominating? He's got to be top 10 ever. You KNOW what's coming and you can't hit it (even today). He's not that crafty, he's just got a wicked cutter and you can't do anything with it.
