I know there are a good deal of sports handicappers on the internet, in vegas, etc. How much do you think these guys reel in? They have to be making a good deal for them to be doing it for a living, right?

#7Obviously, it depends how much they make. Most of the big name handicappers here in Vegas make most of their money with tout services. Due to the corporate nature of the strip, most books have fairly meager wagering limits on games. I know one pro capper here who uses Pinnacle (through an offshore middleman) to get their action. He is able to get more down per game and lower juice. Many books in Vegas will either limit or restrict wagering from those they consider sharp (and betting substantial amounts). You really can't put a number on a collective group like that. Not only do they have up and downswings like everyone else but many of them become complete action freaks and blow their money on other forms of gambling as quickly as they make it...Comment -

#10The problem I see with this is the same as the markets of the world. Even if they have a winning edge, how long are you going to last during the draw downs with someone elses system? Let's say you will realize a 56% profit at the end of some random sports season. That is not bad.....most people with a crystal ball would say sign me up. BUT.....lets say you will have a draw down of 40% during that year. (For those of you that don't know, that is how much you are going to have to go in the hole until you get your cash back.) Will you continue to listen to that "black box " system while you are down 40% before you get to the end at +56%? That is the problem. Then throw in all the assholes that say they are picking 56% and they never have an edge in the first place. How long until you find that out? Anyway...most time if the edge is that great, then they don't need to sell it to you!

if you have no morals and you don't care about people, this is a business you can make a ton of cash.. i'd love to pound these jerks.. if i ever see one on the street, i will give him a beating of his life.. these guys steal lots of money from innocent broke desperate people..
they call me all the time and i usually give them a hard time. i pretend i am about to buy and pay the big bucks for it.. i keep them on the phone for 26 min, i usually put them on speaker and let them talk while i watch a tv show, then when it comes time for my **** number, i give them the wrong # and when they call me back 30 min later to tell me it's wrong, i say.. go f-ck yourself.. they don't like this at all and we end up in a big yelling fight.Comment -

#15I'm sure douchebags like Lang has a large clientele because he's semi-famous and always on TV and radio. Plus he manipulates his record and deletes them whenever he's on a long losing streak. Since Oct '06 he has lost over 2000 dimes (20X bankroll) but you'll never see him mention it anywhere on his website.
Plus why pay when it's posted for free. There's a forum that posts pay picks from touts every day. But they unfortunately pay for them.Comment -

Unfortunately, there are enough scunbags that DO do that that they give the industry a bad name and ruin it for the honest, hard-working pro cappers. I'd venture to say that the guys on the front page here are all legit, especially since they are all monitored at one monitor or another. I have seen some poor records too, which would just about mean they have to be legit. Otherwise, it would look like all there records are over 70%.
Heck, I am so honest that I gave out my favorite approach to betting MLB for free in detail.Comment
