WSOP Satellite Qualifiers for 2011 Main Event

Here's a list of qualifiers for the WSOP Main Event Satellite on June 25th. Members who don't upgrade to SBR Pro accounts within 72 hours of their tournament win will forfeit their seat.

Considering by the end of the month several hundred people will already be qualified and many of the same people tend to play every day, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 20th place making the final.

Yeah it'll probably happen. It's just a formality really, give away some points and bring some attention to it.

Wonder what the over/under on how far down the cascading tickets will go. I agree with Thad, I would not be surprised if it reachs down to 20th spot....

i dont agree with 20th place getting in either, BUT, im glad because I may need it the way im playing. And my badge for a Saturday 1st place poker is missing as well.

I think someone figured that there will be 570 potential placements what with 5 tournaments per day and 3 in each tournament. That's 15 qualifiers per day.

I can see toward the end of June everyone in a particular tournament either having already qualified or qualifying during that tournament.

You're lucky you got one. There are plenty of us who have qualified for multiple badges but haven't received one yet.

Something doesn't make sense here. Is SBR saying 15 guaranteed different winners each day for 75 total a week? For 8 weeks, thats 600 different people qualifying! We only have 300 or so poker players anyway, they might as well just register everyone to play in the Main Event satellite right now.

With the current process of elimination, by the 8th week, the people finishing last in the 50's will be the ones winning a seat to the main event satellite. This is absurd if this process is not changed.

In the 8th week or sooner, there most likely will be a tourney of 60 players, where 50 or more of the players will already be qualified for the main event satellite. I don't think this was intended to be this way.

Was the Saturday win recorded more than 30 days ago? Badges for poker tourney wins have a 1-month runtime.

You guys certainly have an interesting take. We're seeing dozens of new signups for the promo, and have had a high attendance rate, with some days filling up entirely with 300 unique players. To suggest that 59th place would be automatically qualified due to duplicate wins is a stretch.

I agree that 60 is a stretch and I am happy for SBR (and us by extension) for the new signups. All good news!

I think it will be interesting how far down the cascades go down.

That said, I think the cascade down of qualifiers is not a great idea. at worst, getting into the top 5 should be the cut off.

I don't see what the fuss is about really, if someone manages to qualify with their best ever finish of say 10th, out of 2 months of 60 entrant qualifiers, then their chances of winning the June 25th tournament are approximately zero.

That's the key -- new signups and maybe new pros. Remember, once you qualify you have to turn pro within 72 hours. So lets not be too critical of the rules here and be happy with all the poker perks sbr has given us and, I hope, will continue to give us. The more pros sbr gets, the better things can be for all of us. I realize I am not one of the poker sharps here and I speak as someone happy to get to a final table once in a while. So to all you sharp players - I do feel your pain, but try to see what SBR wants to achieve with this awesome promotion.
