No chance, the Lakers could not even make the playoffs when Phil was retired, and they had more talent before he joined the team.

That team was more talented than the '96 Bulls and could not win without Jackson.

Phil hasn't done a great job in this series. But the players look terrible as well. Phil doesn't even play 1 minute on the court.

People need to realize that this is not the same Dallas Mavs team. Chandler and Haywood take away easy points and Peja, Dirk, Terry and Kidd are some of the best shooters the NBA has ever seen.

Lakers team is one of the best in the league. pau and bynum at your bigs. kobe and artest. odom coming off the bench. not a bad team at all imo. part of being a coach is dealing with players egos and phil does this better than anyone else. there is plenty of other coaches that are much better at x' & o's but phil can make players perform on the court to win. he did it with rodman and was able to handle him. that is proof enough if knows how to coach, especially the superstars he has had. yea he has had superstar teams and he has had success with them. look at other stacked teams that havent been able to win or only win once

I would believe that if all three of these games were tight and LA was performing up to their abilities. The disconnect in their current team dynamic is too blatant to ignore.

He shoots better now but for most of his career if I bet against his team there were very few players (who were considered stars) I would of rather had shooting it late when the game was on the line.
