Why they hating on R Westbrook
The Thunder have lost a couple games and they always blame Westbrook. Why is he taking so many shots? they say.

Give the ball to Durant. they say. his turnovers were not good but they are talking about his shot attempts.

Westbrook took 23 shots to Durants 21 yesterday. ESPN is blasting him for taking too many shots.
9-23 fg . missed layups/tip shots (7). he was trying to get the ball to the hole.
Westbrook, in the 1st quarter, was 5-7. Was that too many shots?
At halftime he had 18 pts with 12 fg att. Was that too many shots?
He only took 3 shots in the 3rd qtr (2 to the hole)
Westbrook took 8 shots in the 4th (he made only 2). he did score 9 points though with his ft's.

And lastly, in the 4th qtr, when Westbrook shot the ball, the Thunder were down by at least 9 points each time he shot.

He had 20 points thru 3 qtrs 7-15 fg 6-7 ft.
Being down the whole 4th qtr, and shooting well the whole game, how can u blame him for taking too many shots and losing this game.

I wonder if these guys even watch the games. Or at least study the boxscore or shot charts.

If you dont understand what people are saying about westbrook the last 2 games then you dont understand basketball.

He single handidly lost that nuggets game. 30 shots and 30 points as a point guard?

seriously, u guys going to blame him too, for sundays loss. so what he should have been a good "point guard" and score just 18 pts and 12 assists. so does durant score the other 6 baskets? so durant needs 45 points and they still dont win?

It comes down to efficiency and decision making. Stats don't make you great, producing stats that matter in key situations matters more. OKL isn't great when they have Westbrook dominating the ball shooting <40%...he needs to facilitate the flow of their offense and score within in not in spite of it. I don't have them but look at his efficiency stats when they win vs when they lose and you'll have the answer.

                  this is the problem.

his position isn't shooting guard, its a point guard.

Point guard (PG), also called the play maker or "the ball-handler", is one of the standard positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position – essentially, they are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right players at the right time

He is being a ball hog. His job is to facilitate the offense, not run around for 20 secs (without passing the ball once) and shoot long jumpers or drive to the hole and miss layups. He isn't getting other people involved in the flow of the offense....and that is his main job.

He's a hot mess on both sides of the ball. A team cannot control tempo when I guy is throwing up shots and turning over the ball.

He needs to be less like Derrick Rose and more like Chris Paul. Unlike the Bulls situation with Rose, Westbrook is not the Thunder's best player whether he wants to admit it or not.

Hopefully this does not turn into another KG/Marbury situation. They could have been THE duo in the NBA from the late 90's into the 2000s. Instead Marbury's fragile ego couldn't handle being the 2nd best player on the team. He demanded a trade, got it and we all know how that all ended for him.
