I don't want to come off as a jerk I would just like to point out that this is the type of logic that leads to gambling problems, the idea that your next big score could be the very next race so why stop, when in reality you are just digging a deeper hole that eventually becomes to deep to ever escape from. I am not directing this post at anybody its just the flawed logic held by many losing addicted gamblers.

there are lottery winners here , my neighbor is one of them . a pretty cool guy that lives 2 doors down from me . he reads sbr sometimes when he is over here shooting the breeze .
what does that have to do with anything ? well , just like with horse racing a person can lose over and over just like playing the lottery . BUT ! when he hits big , THERE IT IS . ballgame , someone can make alot of money with one big hit , and MOST WOULD NEVER EVER SEE IT COMING .

Ok I don't fully understand your entire post... but my name is just a joke. I am a purely recreational gambler but do keep track of all of my bets because I am anal and lame like that. The money I drop on sports betting, the poker table or the track comes from the entertainment section of my budget if I don't see it again fine if I do great. I am far from being either broke or rich but for a fulltime university student I am quite comfortable.

Nothing in my previous post had anything to do with myself as a gambler I was just pointing out the potential hazards of constantly thinking in the manner described, it's important to hear other points of view from time to time to keep a balanced perspective.

Your lottery example is valid in the case where somebody is dropping basically their spare change a week or even every day for that 1 in a million shot at striking it rich, no harm in doing that but it is a loooooong shot. I am not talking about those type of gamblers, I am talking about people that day in day out drop more than they can afford to on bets because "its about to turn around"

Oh and please let me know what subliminal messages my first post had, I am a psychology major but I didn't realize I was that good.
