I know a guy that manages a Checker auto parts franchise in a strip mall and he said the biggest seller these days is what is called a trickle charger. He can barely keep them on the shelf. With $4 gas, people that used to drive alot more had the alternator in the car take care of charging the battery. When you use your vehicle for short trips and have the AC on alot, your battery goes dead. These trickle chargers usually cost under $10 and you can leave them on your car battery all the time and they go through a penny of electricity a day.

If gas goes to $5 and you start driving less and use the air conditioner,it's a good deal to get one of these. It might save you from paying for a ripoff tow.
