I been living in a condo for about 18 months now. I am the one of only 4 people in my building with directv. But I am the only one of the 4 to have an HD dish. It is a bigger dish than SD. They told me the dish was too big, but not to worry about it. Now, they are telling me I have to take it down, or get a smaller SD dish. I seen people arguing with the board president yesterday and pointing to my balcony. I guess other people want it and now they are trying to make me take mine down. Is there anything I can do?

#4The rules say a 12 or 16inch dish is allowed. But I think my hd dish is 18 or 24. I talked to somebody and they said that I would probably be able to keep it since they allowed me to already. They said just make a big stink about how I have to pay cancellation fees if the dish has to come down.Comment -

#6Ok. I'm gonna look into it. When I moved in, I made it clear to the owner that I needed directv for football. I wouldn't have moved here. I pay too much money to be told what to do. To many rules and regulations in these places.Comment -

#7When they initially granted you permission you should have gotten it in writting, otherwise it is pointless and they can go back on their word at anytime; hence they are getting complaints now from others and going back on it.Comment -

#8Your right. I should have. People are complaining because they want one too. I can prove that I had it up for 18 months. They said they will have a board meeting this week and see.Comment -

#14You will have to get a copy of home owners association by laws. Every condo is different, my guess is there is a statement in the by laws about sat dishes . Since your just renting they probably wont show it to you, you will have to go through the condo owner to get a copy, who probably isnt going to want to cause waves with the association.JMO.

#16Sounds like a typical condo situation. I'd stand your ground until they offer a compromise - takes a lot for them to fight you legally.Comment -
