when your right about something, people get angry.

Lets all lift 2 times a day 6 days a week like arnold schwartniger used to recommend. Didn't work so he revised his book and continues to do so every year.

Read my original post and chill folks.

have you even read his book? arnold says he lifted 2 times a day, although he probably roided in his prime and is a genetic beast anyway, if you can recover quick enough to keep up the amount of volume he did you'd look pretty damn good. besides, what works for 1 person doesnt work for everyone, and he lists tons of techniques in his book including the ones you mention. regardless, his book is a book on how to become a bodybuilder, not how to become a power lifter and increase your bench press.

"Most people are not gaining strength or muscle, not because they are not lifting enough, but because they are training too much." also you really think this is most peoples' biggest problem? most people are lazy as fuk, dont lift enough, and eat like shit

yes ive read nearly every exercise , weightlifting book in existance. Good read title and original post . I disagree with what works for one person doesn't work for everyone with weightlifting. weightlifting is anaerobic exercise stress physiology. There is and can only be one valid theory of anything. In fact the theory is exactly the same as the theory of sunlight stress and friction to the hands.

LOL at anaerobic exercise stress physiology. You sir are a goof but a funny one. I recommend for everyone to get a VO2 test to determine at which HR you switch from aerobic to anaerobic metabolism. That way you can buy a HR monitor and keep your HR just where it needs to be through the workout.

When I was in high school (over 20 years ago), I increased my bench press with hard work and push ups. People underestimate pushups. They work the pectoral muscles, enabling you to increase your bench press. I promise you that it will work. You also have to be dedicated and it will gradually increase

I use the "bench pyramids"; do a set of 8, 6, 4, 2 reps w/ increasing weights, and then do 4, 6, 8 w/ the same corresponding weights. I probably max between 260-275 right now; it seems to work alright.

it's not strategy, it's mindset and attitude. It's about confidence. You gotta believe 100% that you can do it before you even lift the barbell

                      when I believe in myself, I can bench around 370 - 380. When I don't, I can barely do 225

                      It's ALL mental

Static holds always attract a lot of negative attention. Most people are not fans of it. Just go to bodybuilding.com's boards and they hate it. In reality it doesn't work, all it does is make you better at static holds.

most people that increase there press think that the way they did it was correct when in fact they could of done better. Most people fail miserably because of bad advice or doing what some other lifter with great genes does.

Lets just use 5 x 5 for example. Why not 4 x 5 or 6 x 5? I can aswer that but i doubt anyone else can. People just want to be traditional even with weight training. Let's say you were being trained and was told to do lets say 3 sets of 8 or 4 sets of 10 on certain exercises.

Then all of a sudden your trainer is not there and writes you up a new workout to do and it says to do 3 sets of 7 or 4 set of 11.

Would you finally be skeptical on the issues of sets and reps.

I would much rather have a larger dead or squat or clean personally but get you back and tris stronger. Also, take care of your rotator cuffs. Bench is the most over rated lift ever. No question.

exactly on rotator cuffs. I don't bench much myself anyone , i prefer nautilus equipment and slow movements. Some people are obsessed with it.

The only slow movement you prefer is that of which you feel after eating 5 lbs of meat.
