I think Al McMordie is the sharpest one. I may start tailing his picks very soon, he has been pretty good lately.

Thanks, LT, but I think it was our side-by-side pairing that made it all good

Now that Idol is finally coming to an end, do you take a couple of weeks vacation then hop back on football? You know going over the stats, checking rosters, etc..

Probably after my vacation the week of the fourth of July. I look forward to it every year - it's like redemption for having to write the Idol column

What do you do between now and July? Write columns on little out of the way places that people can go to for the weekend?

Their free picks run hot and cold just like everyone else's do. If you always follow one of them, you will win and lose. And it's impossible to fade them all since they are often on different sides of the same game.

Do they have the top 2 yet? I've lost all interest in idol.

Nope. I'm actually the assistant features editor and the editor of a magazine the newspaper I work for produces - believe me I have plenty to fill the gaps. Plus, I have to post here

Yeah I have no idea what an editor does. For some reason I get this picture in my head of Lou Grant. Obviously I don't get the same picture of you, and I know MTM was about a tv station. I also get this picture of a real hard ass cracking the whip on some reporters trying to get them to submit their stories before the deadline of the morning paper arrives.

Yeah, editing is such a glamorous life, isn't it SG? We should swap job locales for a week. I'm assuming each writer in your corral is at least aware of the difference between there, their and they're and has some knowledge of the relationship between a subject and a verb?

I'm glad that I don't have a female boss. You women can be task masters in the most brutal way. I also find the english language baffling. Like the rules with exceptions, all the different spellings and meanings of the word 'to'.

Yeah you look like fun, but I bet that if some of the underlings don't have their shit together you really let them know about it.
In my job when people screw up no body says anything because the embarrassment of failure is enough to motivate people to do better next time and you onlt get so many screw ups before the door is shown anyways.

You're welcome anytime, Nancy. I'm currently in negotiations with the Mrs. to get her out to Vegas this summer, so being the Long Island tenderfoot that she is, she can tell you that the scorpions, snakes and tarantulas really aren't that bad out the Bee Farm.

No problem, I get called a 'bitch' quite often, only usually preceded by 'son of a.'
