Even if you gave Boston a 60% probability of winning at home and a paltry 20% probability of winning on the road, this would relate to a 75.424% probability of Boston winning at least 2 games, implying at -280 an edge of 2.361%.

Even these understated numbers, btw, would imply a Detroit series win probability of 66.458%, further implying edge on the Detroit series bet at +125 of 49.530%.
Boston has a 90% chance of winning at home.. now what?

Given the current market odds (-190 on Boston at home and -130 on Boston to win the series), the implied fair (i.e., "zero-vig") money line on Boston to win at least 2 would probably be something like -660. (Note that this is assuming a constant win probability for each of home and away throughout the series.)

If you felt confident about this then the the proper "now what" would be backing up the truck and loading up on Boston GM1 -201.

        That'd be an edge of 34.77% and a full-Kelly stake of 69.90%.

I have lost a woman chasing after money. Also, Pinnacle is offering -123 on the Celtics.

I don't know what I should do guys. Could wait til Game 2 and bet the Pistons and get a better price. 6/5 is barely worth it. I originally wagered more for the sole purpose of hedging.. Didn't think the odds were going to be this low.

You sort of got snookered. The Celtics have looked awful during the playoffs. Billups has had plenty of time to rest, so the expectations are that the series is very close to even.

What I find amazing is people who act like the Pistons have played great ball this postseason, because they haven't.

edit: pistons played great tonight, but i don't see them shooting lights out like this again this series, it's going to be a good one.
