    Are Sportsbooks Next?
After "Black Friday" for the online poker sites I am wondering if sportsbooks will be next. It's the same deposit methods and same idea (online gambling). It seems as though the main target was the US Govt. thinking that there was money laundering (and there might have been). But why not just legalize it, tax it, and move on. The industry would flourish without a doubt.

Anyways, what do you guys think? Are sportsbooks next on the list?

Ya, I was thinking the same thing. All the withdrawal payment processors are going through many of the same channels as the poker sites, so wouldn't be surprised at all if the same happens with some of the bigger books. I'm not sure how bodog didn't get seized, especially since they also have a sportsbook(which is far more explicitly illegal than poker was), but they are most certainly next if something goes down with sportsbooks.

What can they do to sportsbooks based in OTHER COUNTRIES?

They have already effectively shut down deposit places like Net Teller to US players, etc. Unless books are dumb enough to process transactions through US-related sites, I don't see what the government can do. They would have already done it a loooooong time ago.

I wouldn't worry about the books.

Realize this isn't necessarily an attack on online poker sites rather it is a shot at indicting 11 people on fraud and bribery. The whole online poker site angle is really for headlines.

PokerStars and Full Tilt are both located outside US.

                Question:

Can the U.S. Government indict and cause to be arrested someone engaged in a criminal act that involves a citizen or an institution of the U.S., if said person is a resident of, oh, say, Costa Rica?
