#2That is partly what I do for a living. Ask Kellen if you want more info. I only deal in high end graded material. Prewar and mostly E95, M116, T201, T202 and old judge.Originally posted by topcati collected from 83 to 94[baseball,football,basketball].the industry has gotten to greedy for me.kids cant aford cards in packs any more.i saw packs where they were 100 dollars.המוסד

#3It is all junk. There are packs that are up to 750. WOW to get a 1/1.. It is ok if you want modern crap that was produced with 1/1. High end sgc is the way to go. I am flying back east to buy some oj and e93 next week can't wait!Originally posted by topcati collected from 83 to 94[baseball,football,basketball].the industry has gotten to greedy for me.kids cant aford cards in packs any more.i saw packs where they were 100 dollars.המוסד

#4I collect cards and memoribilia (bats, balls, helmets, etc..), but nothing crazy like Illini. Most of my stuff is from the late 50's - late 90's. Illini has the big money collection.

#5i kind of collected from 79' to 90', i sold all of mine in like 92', i was a year out of high school and going to community college and partying all the time, i needed money , so i sold them cheap to some card shop. i think my most expensive card i had at the time was a Ricky Henderson rookie card.Comment -

#6I have dabbled in cards myself. When I was a kid my dad collected them so we would go to card shows. Had mostly hockey at that time but those cards have never been graded.
Actually had a T206 Ty Cobb card PSA 8 I believe it was but I needed some money at one time so I sold it.
Also had some PSA 8 and PSA 9 Jordan rookies that I also sold
Seems I like to buy these good cards but then I get rid of them shortly after since I realize that I could use that money for something betterComment -

#7A lot of people I come across it is hard for me to tell them the bad news. I don't even like to do it anymore. I also collected in the 80s and its junk .. not sure if you guys are into it but the rea just closed at 9 million unreal.. people think there is a recession not in the graded card prewar market tell u that much. I only care really about 1886-1933 but usually my customer base and what i invest in is old judge and n29, n29 .. My boy last year at the national bought a sgc goodwin set 1888 a high grade for 145k and flipped it 4 months ago for 300k in****insane! i could of got it but turned it downOriginally posted by louisvillekidi kind of collected from 79' to 90', i sold all of mine in like 92', i was a year out of high school and going to community college and partying all the time, i needed money , so i sold them cheap to some card shop. i think my most expensive card i had at the time was a Ricky Henderson rookie card.המוסד

#8What back was the cobb? I just sent in a green and red one to sgc. I am hoping for 88 or 92. I crossed my t205, t201, t202, t207 sets to sgc.. they are demanding more money in the prewar right now.. a lot of bad shiit with psa lately regarding the mastro auction.. the fake slabs etc etcOriginally posted by StacocakesI have dabbled in cards myself. #11Hey, maybe one of you guys would know, but I have this one Mantle all-star, and it has a crease in it. The one guy at this high-dollar card store by my house told me there was a service for flattening it out, and it worked out real nice. I'm a burnout, and forgot to go in there and get the number from him, and to be honest, felt to weird to go back. Does anyone know of such a service?Comment -

#12Since we are talking cards here just wondering what you guys think I should do. I have about 3/4 of the 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan rookie year set.I have pretty much all of the big name rookies from the set EXCEPT the Jordan which I sold. Do you think it would be better to buy the remaining 1/4 of the set and then to sell it on ebay as a complete set or should I sell it card by card or should I sell the partial set as is. The cards I have are all high grade SGCComment -

#13Ha Ha. Chute talk to me brother. If it is a mantle all star it is not one of his main cards in whatever year you have. the purpose people soak cards or get the creases is to have them graded put them in rea, huggns, goodwin, sloate or the others and get the high priced. you only want to do it if your gonna cash in. the crease will come back. i have a e95 young in a sgc slab paid 8k for it looked at it for the first time the other day when i went to my safety deposit box and a huge crease on it. it wasnt there when i bought it at an auction.. it sucks.. i cracked it out and having it done.. then regrading it then selling it.. dont waste your time bro..unless its a high end mantle do it. bring it to vegas if you want ... but as u stated its an all star card.. waste of time..Originally posted by ChuteBoxeHey, maybe one of you guys would know, but I have this one Mantle all-star, and it has a crease in it. #15Bro have you looked at the 86 fleer set lately? it has fallen off. Jordan has dropped off psa 8 dropped the 9s dropped you can get a 10 for 3 k if u know where to go but its a waste.. if i were u dont waste grading fees on them.. dump them to someone and invest in some real good shiit.Originally posted by StacocakesSince we are talking cards here just wondering what you guys think I should do. #19I think it's a 1961 all-star. Didn't know that it would come back though. Was hoping to get it out, and then get it graded. I'm saving my stuff for when I have kids, my father threw all his old shit out, and I wish I had his collection to this day. I guess I'll wait 20-30 years to get it soaked, then it'll last a little while if the kid wants to sell em. I love my 500 home run ball, that's probably my favorite piece in my collection. I just need to wait a few years for some more people to die, and more people to break 500, and try to get part 2 with a coa as well.Originally posted by flyingilliniHa Ha. Chute talk to me brother. #22Anyone interested in some fake Jordan rookies?haha. I got screwed on ebay twice many years ago when I was in a Jordan rookie buying spree and two of the Jordans I got were the most blatant ripoffs I have ever seen so I tried to get ebay and even the police department where the cards were from involved and they all told me to **** off pretty much so I got stuck with these two fake rookies.Even tried to sell them on ebay saying that I was not sure if they were real or not but I would sell them as a fake and ebay pulled my auction each time I tried to sell the cards. I guess they would rather me say the ****ing card is real and then give them the fakeComment -

#29I guess if you make the reprint look close enough to the actual card that eventually one or two will get by the graders. They are out to lunch alot
The fakes I got though weren't even in a slabbed case.Just a normal case.Coloring on both was horrible.Easy to tell they were a cheap reprint.Of course in the ebay add they showed an actual PSA graded card.Just my luckComment -
