List things you used to do when you were a square bettor

1. i tailed all of vegas dave's college football "philosophy picks".
i tailed him for $30/game when i first started gambling. the guy would come up with these elaborate write-ups for each game. i was so impressed by his knowledge of statistics and rankings i thought he was a sharp. well he hit about 30% and buried me.

2. i bought 3 months worth of accuscore picks.
shit service. i also hit about 35% winners on nba/nfl spreads. so i was losing money betting their plays and i was paying like $50/month for the service. so i was paying money to lose more money.

3. say i liked a team, tigers ml +145 for example. i would bet them at that price, and then 10 min before gametime the line would move to +155. now my thought process at the time was, "wow, the books are giving me 10 extra cents on the moneyline for free."
then i would put another unit on them. those plays lost like 90% of the time, but again i thought i was just unlucky.

parlay money lines greater than -260 thinking the odds were obviously in my favor because it would take an underdog to win and i should be able to pick a few of those together consistently (ironically I still struggle with this one sometimes)
