I've lived in Oklahoma my entire life so I will try to give an unbiased opinion. Oklahoma City and Tulsa are nice places to live with plenty to do. If you haven't been to OKC, you would probably be surprised about how much is actually there. With that said, the farther you get away from those cities in Oklahoma, the less and less there is.
I've been to L.A., Las Vegas, Chicago, Dallas, etc. and yeah, those cities have a lot more going on but I wouldn't want to live in any of those places. A little to hectic for my liking and I can do a lot of the sames things in OKC see that I can do there, we just don't have as many options. Make sense?
I've also been to places like Mississippi, Indiana, Tennessee, and Kentucky. While I'm sure there are nice places in those states, it makes me happy that I live in Oklahoma.
As for the crowd, it's a college atmosphere. The big thing here was college football until we recently got our NBA team. Goto an OU football game. Every play there are 85,000 fans standing and screaming their heads off. The same thing happens at Oklahoma State basketball games. This type of crowd has spilled over to the Thunder. Personally, I love it. It's a lot rowdier than other pro venue I've been to that's for sure. Other places seem really laid back compared to OKC.
College type crowds don't appear to be in cities like New York and L.A. because quite frankly, those aren't college type places. People in L.A. and New York have plenty to get excited about besides pro sporting events. It's not quite exactly the same here. The Thunder are the big thing going right now in the state so they have 100% support and yes, we get very pumped up about the games.Comment -

Are you kidding me? Seattle got robbed, literally got robbed. And everyone knows that Seattle sports suck, but so do a lot of other cities. At least Seattle has an NFL and MLB team unlike OKC. There is no denying that OKC's fans are great, but the Thunder should be in Seattle. If anything, OKC should have gotten the Hornets.

Speedy, Seattle did not get robbed. The Sonics should have never been in the position they were in to go to OKC. Schultz sold the team to Bennett and his guys. The WA state gov't failed to provide the funding for updates at Key Arena. IIRC, this was not only the reason that Bennett relocated to OKC but also the reason that Schultz sold the team in the 1st place.
Seattle is a great city. I've been there many of times and we have considered living there but they do not get the type of support that the Thunder have gotten in OKC. Possibly because they are the only game in town. And Oklahoma is a college state that rallies around the sooners so it's really no surprise that the atmosphere is college like.Comment -
