I find comfort in the soothing ayats from the Q'uran. I listen to nasheeds also. As far as mainstream secular music goes I pretty much like most everything. From classic rock to hip hop.

I listen to just about anything rock. MetallicA is my favorite band of all time although in recent years my favorite band has been Hot Water Music. Here's a great "newer" MetallicA song that some of the old die hard fans have probably never heard:

The thread starter surely knows this song.

Hot Water Music is probably the most underrated band of all time in my opinion. They have dozens of songs that I love. Here's just one that I've really been into lately:

Here's another HWM song that I've really been into lately. The 2nd half of the song is absolutely killer! As well as this homemade video. This song is called In the Gray.

That Hot Water Music singer sounds like Henry Rollins a little bit, especially the 1st video posted.

I'm mostly a classic rock person. Some hip-hop here and there.

Some 'newer' groups I've been digging lately: Panic! at the Disco, Breaking Benjamin, and Monsters of Folk

Also fyi Smashing Pumpkins are working on a new album, you can go to their site and download what they've released so far for free. Some really excellent songs

I prefer classical. Beside the "big" composers, I like Telemann, Weber and Brahms. Also love opera, preferably italian.

nothin like a little Bluegrass footstompin. This is one of our local bands here but they are #1 in the country i believe (probably not a whole lotta competition)

Trampled by Turtles is the band
