Right. Any of you guys competing in the Summer Olympics basketball team? Didn't think so. This guy is the best leader and overall clutch shooter in the game today, that's why his name is MR. BIG SHOT...

So he is not a clutch shooter, defensive stud, and team captain for a reason..? The guy isn't as public as a "Kobe" or "Lebron", but he's every bit as great of a player AND he has all the intangibles...

and that's EXACTLY what he did versus Cleveland last year and Miami the previous year.
In his wildest dreams, Kobe could not hope to do better than 27-67 from the floor in a 6 game series versus the defensive juggernaut 76ers! Reason: He's no "MR. BIG SHOT"!

Let me guess you have their jerseys and posters..
I guess he is competing in the Olympics for show...
You guys don't appreciate true great players which don't have highlights on ESPN every night... The media misleads you into thinking Lebron is the next Michael Jordan, LEBRON is NOWHERE CLOSE to the player Michael Jordan was even when MJ was his age...!

He is an integral part of a very good team...but he's not close to the best player in the league.

True, but he's at least in the top 2 on the Pistons.

Crazy did you see him the last two years in the Eastern finals? He was flat out awful and was the big reason Cleveland and Miami advance and it wasn't James or Wade.

This is SBR, not NBA. Wrong audience.
The guy is good, but not the best.

I saw those games, apparently you didn't since you have your blinders on..
It's cool, I knew people would put Mr. Public Kobe Bryant and Bling James over him, that just goes to show you how big a role media coverage plays into public perception...
I've watched tape of this guy for a long time and he is the best overall player intangibles wise, defensively, and he is as clutch as they come...

I have the same argument for people who criticize Paul Pierce. The guy is good, but he's not super-human!

I didnt like chauncy much this year. Last few years he was cold to me, but the champ seems to be coming back out in the playoffs. He is solid and when he is back to strength, hes going to mow down the threeparty.

Ive seen him miss plenty of 'big shots' and easy shots. the name has stuck too long. hes a nice shooter and a good player, he is not close to the level of kobe or howard, or james. Big shot wasn't needed to win their last series, he is surrounded by talent. hes a nice player, but not a first team NBA guy, much less the best player in the league. he may not even be the best player on his team. you put him on the cavs and take lebron off and the cavs win 9 games.

This is completely accurate. Chauncey's come up small more often that he's hit a game-winner or other big shot.
As for the question, he's not one of the 5 best at his own position, so no, he's nowhere near the best player in the league. Not even top 25.
