Prosecutor: Barkley faces felony if he doesn't pay back $400K
LAS VEGAS -- A prosecutor says retired NBA star Charles Barkley will face felony charges if he fails to repay a $400,000 gambling debt to a Las Vegas casino.

Clark County District Attorney David Roger says Barkley will get a chance to make restitution to Wynn Las Vegas to avoid felony bad check charges.

The casino alleges in court documents filed Wednesday that Barkley failed to repay four $100,000 casino markers, or loans, he received last Oct. 18 and 19.

Barkley played 16 NBA seasons. He's now a basketball analyst for TNT.

I highly doubt he can't pay off $400k, or intentionally gave bad checks. He probably didn't even realize until now, sounds like they went about this the wrong way.

I wonder if the local DAs office where any of us live would let us slide on 2 bad checks for 8 months. I like the guy on TNT, but F em, if you write a bad check, and cant pay it off in 8 months your a$$ should go to jail, JMO.

I wonder how aggressively they went after him or if he actively realized this and was stiffing them. He's a very rich guy, always said he wouldn't gamble if he couldn't afford it, and maybe he just honestly didn't realize it.

Crazy I hope for his sake you are right. But as a business owner, I find it very hard to believe that he hasnt been contacted numerous time about the checks in the last 8 months.
