Sure,Bryant has to pay a 100 grand fine but the mainstream news media didn't even pick up on it and the ESPN sports media did a wink,wink snicker report that it was no big deal.If a mormon like Fredette who is a sort of face of the mormon church and Utah right now said the same thing Kobe did,the media would be up in arms.

Jimmer would be kicked out of school, supposedly. But the difference is, Jimmer signed something saying he would not swear along with a bunch of other stuff, Kobe didn't. Even though they have the player conduct, they can't take away his freedom of speech (no matter how much Stern wants to), and he is too big a star at too important of a time in the season to do anything else to that would be fair.
