Most every home game played in september & early october is after sunset, and the Blacks are Alternates/Third primary design. The maroon jersey is still the main home, although the most of the current players like the blacks way more. Black is officially one of the primary colors.

Those black unis remind me of my Noles all black "Unconquered" ones. If the Noles can survive the humid heat in the black unis ASU can in the desert. They probably won't be worn as much though anyway...
