It seems like a lot of players who played Magic eventually got into poker and are some of the top players. I know it helped me transition into poker.

There are at least two Pro Tour Magic players who post here somewhat regularly, but it'll have to be up to them to reveal themselves.

I hope they do post in this thread. It would be great to talk with some fellow magic players. I played for about 12 years. I just got burnt out on it. I played a lot of tournaments everywhere. PTs, Qualifiers, Regionals.

I have indeed played with the Magical Cards. Yeah, a lot of Magic players got into Poker/Sportsbetting. Mostly Poker, especially with the Euros.

Little Rock Arkansas... trying to think of who came out of Arkansas... I think Wescoe and Davis were Memphis. There was a whole ATL crowd. Hmm...

I played Yu-Gi-Oh (similar type of trading card game) when i was a younger kid, then i started playing poker, then sports betting.

Now i just do Poker and Sports Betting.

Yeah, it's sarcasm. In Magic there are ELO rankings (like chess), and money rankings.

Yes, just as poker is to tarot readings.

Magic is a competitive game. There are no Elo's in Tarot. In Poker you can keep score with chips, cash, and bracelets. D&D is pretty much all about role playing and having fun. Long live Gary Gygax's legacy, long live the wisdom of Chip Reese.

BuddyBear: And if a woman wants to jump 3 points on the hotness scale she should hang out with a bunch of Magic players. A "5" can become an "8" pretty quickly by not having any competition whatsoever.

I have a bunch of 4th ed cards in mint condition in a shoe box. I wonder what they are worth.

i used too. I started when i was 11 and played consistanly for a few years. im 24 now, and me and my buddys break out the cards every year or 2 and get into it for a while. when we get bored, we put them away and take a break.

I love me a good Blue deck!

Back in the day I used to play magic. A friend gave me thousands of cards from the first few editions and when my kid was born I sold em for like $300. Damn I wish I had kept them.
