    Oakland Athletics Lack of Power...
It is very possible that these guys won't have a guy with 20 HR's this year..

It is also very possible that they won't have a guy hit .300 this year (foul ground in Oakland doesn't help)...

I think they have scored a total of 21 runs this year, 7 of those coming in one game..

Can a team win a division when they have to string together multiple hits to score runs??

    Thoughts?

If the had guys with a higher enough OBP, runs should be created in theory. OBP is generally a good indicator of walks, which will lead to getting to the bullpen faster.

Texas is the best team in division, so the argument is mute.

they have good pitching, which could help if they knew how to manage in-game situations. but hole's right, texas is way better.

Let's face it, they haven't had real power since McGwire and Canseco.

Dude, have you guys forgot about Kurt Suzuki. The guy slammed 13 bombs last year. He doesn't have 1 this year yet, but you better be on the lookout for this future slugger.

Been a concern for a while now. Since they let Swisher go and Frank Thomas retiring. Can't remember any other players that hit power.

Sweeney should be playing everyday, Matsui and Willington should be platooning...

I don't trust any of these guys....Cahill could've been lit up so many times last season but always got the ball to bounce his way

Kurt Suzuki is a bomber? Yeah, the A's probably will not come close to winning the division, but they maaaaaay get the wild card or have a chance to compete for it. I like them a lot better than the super inconsistent and way less talented than you think Anaheim/Los Angeles Angels.

Power bats tend to be expensive.

If Oakland is in the hunt at the trade deadline, they'll go out and buy a power bat.

For now, they have a nifty young rotation
and they are doing a good job of developing them.
