I am a big college hoops fan, esp their postseason. The NBA leaves me colder - I bet only two games so far, and those for chump change. Only if an "angle" jumps out on me.
Right now, I enjoy more the blood sport of politics, specifically this Dem primary thing.
And in speculating on motivations.
Specifically, Hillary's.
It's acknowledged that she can't win - more and more superdelegates each day are declaring for Obama. Esp now that he's doing better in the polls vs McCain.
Sure, she wins WV big on Tues. Kentucky also. She makes what in these times would be considered by anyone else a racist comment, that only she can win the "white working class vote."
But she, logically, can't win.
Or can she?
Does she know somethng we don't? I was not of a conspiratorial mind, at least not until BushCheney and their hot band of neocons lied the nation into war to benefit another country.
OK, let's be logical. (1) She and Slick have had their hearts set on this for so long they can't give it up. Even tho Hill is "borrowing" huge amounts from her own fortune to finance the faltering campaign.
Is that it? She wants to win a few more primaries before gracefully bowing out? And to do so she'll dig into her and Slick's familiy fortune?
Hmmm, no. Not likely. Not to me anyway.
(2) She desperately wants the black guy to indicate that he wants her as his VP running mate. And will pay off all her campaign debt.
Except that any moron knows that Obama ain't going to offer her that, she can run up to and past the convention. After all, he wants to win in November, and Hil would be a dead weight. And anyway he would not want her and Bill setting up a "parallel" White House once the oaths have been taken.
(3) After re-cementing her close relation with "The Lobby," she is privy to information they have, and the rest of us do not.
Like, another devastating attack on Obama is about to come down, worse than the Preacher biz tht Sen Obama survived.
A biggie. One that she can wave before the super delegates, and tell them that now, in the wake of the new scandal, only she can win.
Sounds paranoid. But so would, in 2000, the idea of an elected president going to war with supporters of the rightwing hero of another land buzzing in his ear . . .
Keep an open file on this one.
And also the next, and final . . .
But I gotta get a cup of coffee first
